Members unable to change display names

There is a field in wp_users called display name. Users and admins are currently unable to change the data in this field.

    This is a buddypress bug that was promoted to Major 8 days ago: http://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3725

    Sounds like we can remove our customisation of the field (use default ‘Name’ label) as a short-term workaround. I’ll give it a try.

    Short-term workaround works and is in place now.

    Short-term workaround is seemingly good enough as a permanent solution, but in any case it will be fully resolved in BP 1.6. Closing this.
