New Ladder Players

New players should show up on ladders immediately, even with ZERO games played. We also need a joined date in case they go a year after joining without playing.

There is a joined date already.
Will take a look at showing standings for players who don’t have anything reported but I am a bit concerned it will be confusing for players.

What confuses is players is telling them that they are on the ladder when they appear not to be. Players want visual evidence that they are included. This is an essential change.

I disagree. The evidence is that they appear in the members list for the particular ladder. Showing them also on the standings page before they have a standing doesn’t make sense to me. Minor thing either way though.

Players ARE confused. They ask to be added to the ladder. We tell them the have been added. They check the ladder and do not see their names. To keep it simple, there should be concurence between the members of a group and the name on the ladder.

I’m not sure what you mean when you say ‘name on the ladder’. If I go to any ‘ladder’, and click on ‘Members’ it shows ALL members of the ladder. If go to ‘Standings’, it shows avgs and rankings based on scores members have reported. If they haven’t reported scores, how can they have any standings information?

Customers want their names added to the ladder as soon as they join. This is a completely reasonable request. In every other club on the planet when they join the club ladder their name is put on the ladder immediately. Even in our box leagues, their name is put into a box at the beginning of the month before they report any scores. There should be concurrence between the list of members and the names on the ladder. In fact, adding or removing a player from a group with a ladder should automatically add or remove that player from the ladder.
