In reply to: Geoff West became a registered member ViewThanks for the reply Shaun. That’s interesting … so a set is counted even though only 2 games were played (in the second set). I figured it would come down to complete sets won … I probably would have concentrated a bit more for the last 2 games!!?!
Would it make more sense for a completed set to be weighted more heavily than an…[Read more] -

In reply to: Geoff West became a registered member ViewThanks Brent … I’ve been playing the Calgary Advanced Tennis league and this new league has been great – meeting some fantastic people!
I’ve got a quick question for you … how do the points work in the tennis league? I’m a bit mystified how I won one and lost one and have less points than the other guy who lost 2 matches??Cheers.

Hi Geoff. I am no longer the box league admin. Shaun MacRae (@shaunmacrae) is. He will answer your question directly.

You can find out how points are awarded in section 4 here: http://blog.racquetnetwork.com/2007/01/racquet-network-box-league-rules
According to that point structure you and Bruno were very close because you each played 2 matches (+2), won 1 game (+1), played…[Read more]

Indoor box league matches have a time limit of 60 minutes. Our players want it that way because it is so difficult to get court times at the Tennis Academy. So partial sets count.
BTW, congrats. You now have 610 clubhouse points, which means you have enough points to get a 20% discount on a major purchase such as a racquet.
