Adult Tennis Pathway
STEP 1 – Basic TENNIS LESSONS
STEP 2 – LEARN TO RALLY tennis lessons.
STEP 3 – LEARN TO SERVE tennis lessons
STEP 4 – LEARN TO PLAY TENNIS lessons.
STEP 5 – Adult Recreational Tennis League
Racquet Network has programs in place at several tennis facilities in Calgary to help players take all five of the steps above. Players meet other players at their level at every step along the way. Some players become friends. Some become rivals. Either way, players in our programs often tell us that they are playing tennis more often and at a higher level than at any other point in their lives.
Adult Tennis Lessons Calgary
TENNIS FOR ADULT BEGINNERS was launched in Calgary in 2005. Since then, we have taught more than 100 adult tennis player the basics and helped them move on to STEP 2 – LEARN TO RALLY.
TENNIS FOR ADULT BEGINNERS starts at the beginning. Players in this program are taught how to hold a tennis racquet, how to hit a tennis ball and how to move around the court. Our certified adult tennis instructors work with students to develop basic forehands, backhands, volleys and serves. By the end of this two-week camp, most players will be ready to move on to STEP 2 – LEARN TO RALLY tennis lessons. However, some may choose to repeat STEP 1.
Racquet Network provides all players with racquets and balls as needed. These items are free with course registration. Players must wear athletic footwear and athletic clothing appropriate for outdoor tennis activities in Calgary. They should also bring water, sun screen and mosquito repellant as needed.

Attendance Requirements for Calgary Tennis Lessons
Attendance at all lessons is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended. Students who participate in all lessons will progress faster than those who miss lessons.
Skill Level Requirements for Calgary Tennis Lessons
This is a STEP 1 program. Players are not expected to have any experience with tennis. Our instructors start at the beginning and move forward from there. Many players choose to repeat this step several times. Some take this step only once and then move on to STEP 2 – LEARN TO RALLY tennis lessons. Our instructors are able to help all students regardless of their current level.
Bad Weather Cancellations
Tennis lessons are cancelled when rain is falling from the sky, the temperature is below 10 degrees and/or wind gusts become dangerous. When tennis lessons are cancelled, we post the information on both our website and our Twitter page. Players are responsible for checking these places for cancellation announcements.
