Our most popular outdoor Calgary tennis league is back for 2012. Space is limited so register early. Join us Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings this summer for co-ed tennis at Oakridge. This recreational tennis league for adults is open to intermediate players who are capable of both serving and sustaining a rally. A professional grade ball machine is available for players to practice with. Drop-in numbers may vary with the weather. The supervising pro will determine the format of each session based on attendance. Players should expect to play both doubles and/or singles depending on turnout, court space and weather. Play tennis in Calgary all winter long with this friendly and enthusiastic group of intermediate tennis players. New players are welcome. This is a co-ed league. Most players are at the intermediate level. Advanced players are found in the top boxes. Beginners are found in the lower boxes. Matches are arranged by the players themselves and tend to occur at the Calgary Tennis Academy in Glenmore Athletic Park just northwest of the corner of Crowchild Trail and Glenmore Trail. The Calgary Tennis Ladder has been operating year round since January 2004. Players of all levels are welcome. Located at 9504 Oakfield Dr in southwest Calgary, the Oakridge Racquet Club can accomodate groups of up to 35 high school students on 6 outdoor tennis courts simultaneously. This one-week program includes all necessary equipment and at least three certified adult instructors. Courts are divided into four stations: a ball machine station, a serving station, a rally station and a game station. Students rotate amongst the stations every 15 minutes. Schools must provide their own transportation, teachers and chaperones. Choose between morning sessions (9:00-11:00 am) and afternoon sessions (12:30-2:30 pm). The focus of this 25 hour program is on the development of basic strokes so that kids can successfully rally ten balls on the forehand and backhand sides.
